Examination Information
Year 11 Mocks - 2024
These will take place before the Christmas Holidays. The times and dates for each subject can be seen below, and you can also download a copy of the Mock Examination Timetable Overview here.
The Year 11 Team will be discussing the Mocks with Year 11 students to help prepare them for these exams. Students will receive individual exam timetables and these will also be viewable to both parents and students on the ‘My Exams’ section of the Arbor Portal.
We highly recommend that students watch this 5 minute 'Instructions for Candidates' video before they sit their Mock Exams.
Examinations for 2024-2025
The Dfe provides students with a number of guidance documents that students should also read in advance of completing their NEA and sitting their external exams. These documents can be found by clicking on the Ofqual Student Guide to Exams and Assessments in 2025.
The finalised dates for the Summer Exams at St Catherine’s College this year have been set for 8th May until 18th June 2025.
In addition to the set dates, two additional dates have been allocated as National ‘Contingency Exam Dates’. This is to provide an opportunity for Examination Boards to reschedule exams in the event of unforeseen cancellations, such as a Covid outbreak or national disasters.
It is important that parents and students understand that holiday plans should not be made during the exam period or over the contingency dates below:
- Wednesday 11 June (1pm-5pm)
- Wednesday 25 June (All day)
Students will receive an individual exam timetable nearer the time but you can view the full summer exam timetable here.
In addition to the Summer Exam period, throughout the year students may have structured Internal or External Assessments (NEA’s) for some qualifications. We will continue to update this page with exact dates as they are arranged. It is important that parents and students also make themselves available for these additional dates.
- Window of 1 April to 16 May - Modern Foreign Language Speaking Exams (exact dates will be shared directly with the students)
- Window of 1 January to 31 May - GCSE Art Exam
- Window of 1 January to 31 May - GCSE 3D Art Exam

NCFE subject NEAs (non-examination assessments) will be over a period of time and Heads of Department will communicate this with students.
