Visit by Streetwise
Last week, our Year 7 students had a visit from 'Streetwise', a theatre group presenting on road safety awareness. The presentation was funded by Sussex Safer Roads, a partnership of organisations including Sussex Police, East Sussex County Council, East Sussex Fire Service and Highways England. The partnership's aim is to create a safer road environment for everybody.
The students enoyed the engaging theatre presentation which involved three 'Performance in Education' actors and a number of different masks. The performance focused on the potential consequences of lapses in concentration and risk-taking behaviour around roads such as using mobile phones, listening to music, and 'messing around' with friends.
Following the show, the actors led a Q and A session that demonstrated that our students had listened and learned. One student said, "Your life is more important than rushing home to your X-Box."
Stay safe everyone!
