Careers and Post-16 Information
Information for our Families, Careers Practitioners and Employers
We try to keep parents and carers as informed as possible about events and information to support our students at home. This is communicated via Arbor, our social media platforms, as well as through the subfolders found on the student page.
Families may also find these Parents' Guides useful following the National Careers Week and Green Careers Week.
We work closely with various careers practitioners and employers and are always looking for new initiatives to share with our students. If you would like to run workshops or have an event you wish to share, please contact our Careers Team via the details below.
At St Catherie's College, we prepare students with impartial guidance, providing them with the tools to succeed by inspiring them to explore opportunities in education, training and employment, in line with the Careers programme and thus, enabling them to make informed decisions on their future.
Our Careers Programme
We update our careers programme annually and follow the eight Gatsby benchmarks of Good Career Guidance:
1. A stable careers programme
2. Learning from career and labour market information
3. Addressing the needs of each student
4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
5. Encounters with employers and employees
6. Experiences of workplaces
7. Encounters with further and higher education
8. Personal guidance
In recognition of our commitment to careers education, we are due for reassessment for the Quality in Careers Standard (formerly Investor Careers) on Tuesday 15 October 2024. The outcome will be available in December 2024.
If you have any questions about our careers provision or would like to share information for us to pass onto our students and families, please contact: Mrs O'Connor, Careers Lead: goconnor@stcatherines.college or Ms J Earl, Careers Advisor: jearl@stcatherines.college or Catherine Finn, Link Governor for careers via cfinn@stcatherines.college.
